PBSC's decontamination showers remove traces of possible contamination from personnel entering or exiting high containment and cleanroom areas. Proven to minimise risks. PBSC has extensive independent third-party testing for specialist API facilities.
A wide range of customised designs are available to meet customer’s requirements.
The range includes a fogging shower, also referred to as a mist shower, chemical shower, and ultrasonic fogging shower, for encapsulation or removal of powder from protective suits, and is assessed by SafeBridge Consultants Inc.
The PBSC fogging shower / chemical shower cycle uses 5 to 10-micron water droplets to encapsulate API particles with minimal wetting through the operator’s PPE suit.
Reductions in surface concentrations can be up to 800 times less than the starting contamination levels. Airborne particles around the operative and during de-gowning are also significantly reduced.
The decontamination fogging shower is supplied with a factory-tested PLC, Controls, and a Utility control panel.
The control cabinets can be located above or next to the shower with a prewired cable for easy site electrical installation.
All the parts on the chemical shower are supplied on plugs to make the replacement of spare parts quick and easy, so in the unlikely event of component failure, downtime is minimized. Using PBSC standard components to your specific requirements and specifications.
The system is available with a range of PLCs, with standard options of a Siemens LOGO PLC (with the option of a remote ‘TDE’ PLC screen if required) or a Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) MLX1100 PLC with PanelView 800 HMI 4” colour touchscreen.
The PLC comes with a touch screen in the shower (or on the PLC cabinet) to show the shower status, alarms can be seen and cleared from the screen, and the screen allows various cycle recipes to be stored and accessed by the Supervisor Level password.
And an air shower, also referred to as an air shower chamber, cleanroom shower, and decontamination shower, for removing particles with high-velocity jets of air.
PBSC’s personnel air shower comes in two designs which are with the integrated Air Handling Unit (AHU) on the top of the shower and with a separate AHU that has “Safe Change” filters.
Both options remove particles from the operative with high-velocity air jets. The integrated unit is designed to remove non-hazardous particles on entry into a controlled area.
The air shower is the latest design from PBSC which has been continually improved over the years and features either stainless-steel or powder-coated steel construction with interlocked float and toughened glass personnel doors. The shower has the final assembly in place and requires no cranes or special access on-site as the largest piece will fit through a single doorway.
Maximum clear opening – The door design has been refined to provide a maximum clear entry width with the frame finishing flush with the internal panels. (straight-through design only).
There are 9 x adjustable stainless-steel nozzles on both side walls, 18 nozzles in total.
Both the above decontamination showers come with a fast amount of features and options and are ideal for facilities within healthcare, medical research, pharmaceutical, and containment controlled environments.Sectors: Pharmaceutical and Healthcare
