Overview

The fire rated pass through hatch from PBSC is a specialized hatch used to transfer materials between different areas in a facility while maintaining fire resistance and contamination control. It is also known as a fire rated cleanroom pass through box, fire rated pass through window, fire rated chamber, fire rated box, or fire rated cleanroom hatch. This hatch is crucial in environments where fire safety is a priority, such as laboratories, cleanrooms, and industrial facilities.

When a pass through needs to be installed in a firewall, PBSC can provide a wall or floor mounted option with stainless steel door leaves featuring vision panels.

Tested to BS 476 part 22, with integrity certification from 60 to 90 minutes.

The fire rated hatch from PBSC is essential for environments prioritizing fire safety, providing both protection and efficiency in material transfer processes with its robust design, fire resistant materials, and advanced safety features.

Innovation. Design. Quality

PBSC’s fire rated hatch is available in both wall mounted and floor mounted constructions, featuring the following specifications:

  • Construction: The hatch shell is made from polished stainless steel with a double skin construction.
  • Door Panels: Each door panel includes a Pyran glass pane to maintain visibility without compromising safety.
  • Finish Options: A powder coated option is available using powder coated Zintec material.
  • Material Choices: Options include 304 or 316 stainless steel.
  • Orientation: Straight through, right angle or 3 door (T section) door options.
  • Smooth and Easy to Clean Surfaces: Designed to prevent contamination build up.
  • Flush Surfaces and High Quality Seals: Ensure a clean and controlled environment.
  • Enhanced Workflow: Provides a dedicated and safe transfer point, streamlining operations.

PBSC’s reliable interlock system aids in the reduction of cross contamination and pressure loss by ensuring that both doors cannot be opened simultaneously. This system allows time for the hatch “air” to recover before the next door can be opened, ensuring maximum safety. The interlock feature is securely mounted between the two skins of the hatch body to prevent tampering. Additionally, an electro-mechanical option is available, featuring timed interlocks for air purge and UV light cycles.

Following on site installation, PBSC offers a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance and Servicing Plan. This extensive after sales support service includes regular maintenance programs, servicing, and spare parts.

Regular maintenance, inspection, and testing of seals, interlocks, and fire rated components are crucial to ensure ongoing compliance and optimal performance.
