Building the new high-level biocontainment laboratory begins…
The Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) has been around in some form since the late 1800’s having a long and rich history in New Zealand and abroad. Providing policy and regulatory
advice, market access and trade services, managing major regulatory systems for biosecurity, food safety, forestry, fisheries management and animal welfare.
High-quality science and scientific evidence is a critical part in helping achieve New Zealand in being the world’s most sustainable provider of high-value food and primary products.
Site preparation and groundworks started in 2015 and PBSC which is the leading manufacturer of clean room, high containment, personnel decontamination and material decontamination products around the world used their expertise to provide the custom designs needed for this project which finished in early 2019.
PBSC in association with Merrick, Fletchers, Arcoplast and Biodecon Solutions provided unique, safe and proven decontamination solutions for the National Centre for Biosecurity and Infectious Diseases at Wallaceville, Upper Hutt New Zealand, replacing the existing high-containment lab. Meeting the stringent quality assurance and containment audits.

PBSC provided excellent containment solutions with project-specific adaptions optimising PBSC’s design for installation into the Arcoplast wall solutions, minimising visible fixings and showcasing PBSC’s outstanding finish, cleanability and the highest airtight containment and excellent wear resistance.
The high-containment lab at Wallaceville tests infectious diseases that would have a serious effect on New Zealand, which is why PBSC meticulously engineered their product designs to meet and exceed international best practices.
