PBSC's cleanroom hatch, also referred to as a cleanroom pass through, pass box, pass chamber, dynamic pass box, specimen pass through, pass thru cleanroom, dunk tank, barrier hatch, or lab box, is a durable and sturdy solution for transferring materials in and out of a cleanroom or containment controlled workspace.
By eliminating the need for personnel to enter or exit the laboratory or hospital environment, the cleanroom technology offered via the stainless-steel pass through reduces the risk of contamination, increasing efficiency while providing a barrier between adjacent cleanrooms or controlled facilities.
It provides easy cleaning and maintenance with its robust design with a reliable interlock system to aid you in the reduction of cross-contamination and pressure loss. The cleanroom hatch version air is “cleaned” following use to either the filtered air level of the supply or the higher classification room. The interlock mechanism ensures hatch “air” is given time to recover before the other door can be opened and is mounted between the two skins of the hatch, reducing the risk of tamper.
Available as an electro-mechanical system to provide timed interlocks for air purge and UV light cycles, etc.
Available in various options, including a wall mounted pass through hatch, which has a refined design for maximum impact with minimal visible fixings or recesses on the hatch facilitating easy cleaning, and the completely frameless glass door leaf provides a beautiful look that gives maximum visibility and natural light into and through the hatch, available in single or double door configurations.
A floor-mounted hatch, also known as a trolley hatch or a trolley pass through, is designed to allow wheeled trolleys to be passed between different grade rooms, facilitating the quick transfer of goods, fixed directly to the finished flooring providing a clean and uninterrupted floor through the hatch, available in a range of material constructions including phenolic resin, powder-coated steel, and polished stainless steel.
A fire rated hatch which is tested and certified, ideal when a pass through hatch needs to be located in a firewall and is available as a wall mounted or floor mounted construction with vision panels within the stainless-steel door leaves, tested to BS 476 part 22, with integrity certification from 60 to 90 minutes.
A fan filter hatch which is designed to provide rapid air changes and fast clean-up/recovery times to reduce the waiting time when transferring goods between different grades of room, this system is designed to work without any connection to the building's HVAC system and utilising the air from the adjacent rooms, reducing the costs of HVAC systems and also making it ideal for refurbishments.
All PBSC’s cleanroom hatches are manufactured in 304 or 316 stainless steel and come with various features including custom sizes, toughened glass door leaves, flush button sets, easy cleaning surfaces, robust PBSC cast stainless steel hinge assemblies, minimal visible fixings, a robust mechanical interlock as standard and many more.
With options of UV lights, powder-coated finish, stainless-steel support frame, conveyor systems to client specification, and internal support shelves in glass or stainless steel to name a few.
PBSC also provides a range of room-to-room hatches for up to the most rigorously controlled BSL4 laboratory environments including the barrier hatch also known as a barrier pass through and a BSL hatch, available as a wall mounted version, ideal for small hand-held items and floor mounted designed to handle larger items and carts.
Also the high containment Dunk Tank also referred to as a chemical dunk tank and a hydrogen peroxide hatch, designed to decontaminate small-scale items, featuring a stainless steel lid within the tank, and a hinge-down submersion plate which is provided to ensure items are held below the surface of the neutralising chemical liquid.Sectors: Healthcare, Medical Research and Pharmaceutical
